Tennis Club Lombardo is one of the oldest and traditional-rich clubs in Milan, It was founded in 1946 by a group of private individuals when there wasnt any sports facilities around.
Originally located on the training ground of the Milan Football Club.
In Addition to the football field, there were also changing rooms and grandstands in the area, which remained until the latest 70’s, later replaced by a large parking lot.
After the club moved to Civic Arena in Milan, Commendator Ermanno Bianchi and a group of tennis fans reached an agreement with the City of Milan, given birth to the Tennis Club Lombardo.
In the beginning, two tennis courts and locker rooms were constructed, with the Milan A.C. logo that still visible on the entrance wall, then after many years the Club grew and became a green oasis for tennis and sports practice in the city’s center.
Throughout its history, the Club has been recognized for its competitive activities and passion for competitions, which have led to its success at the national level.
In 1949 , two strongest female italian players : Lucia Bassi and Lea Pericoli, both 15 years old at the time, won the prestigious Porro Lambertenghi Cup.
In the Club History there have been many national titles won by men and women teams, both young and veterans, which many of them are still kept in the clubhouse.
